Injectable Fillers

Injectable fillers, such as collagen or fat, can help to fill in wrinkles and lines on the face, giving a smoother appearance. They plump up the sunken and creased areas of they face or they can add fullness to cheeks and lips.

For collagen injections, an anesthic isn't usually used as it is mixed in with the collagen, however sometimes a freeze spray is used to numb the area. Fat injections are performed under local anesthesia.

There may be some temporary swelling and redness in the area following treatment, but no bandaging is needed, and this should reduce after a few days. Repeated injections are usually necessary every six months to maintain the fullness.
